cochenille: cochenille (carmine red) is obtained from female lice (dactylopius coccus cacti). the red dye is used to color textiles, cosmetic products, or food (or should i say "food") like strawberry yoghurt, sweets, lemonade, easter eggs, etc.
silk: cocoon (butterfly larvae are cooked alive)
